Changing the Way of War With C-UAS

Image
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine presents a massive opportunity for unmanned aerial systems (UAS) to take the front line in modern warfare. Despite the early skepticism, drones bring air superiority over Russia by strengthening Ukraine’s air defence systems and providing electronic warfare countermeasures. The latter is particularly crucial in the sense of embracing new technology provided by NATO. This includes understanding the importance of  counterdrone protection and the relationship between operators and unmanned systems. Russia’s failure to follow the development of drone defence and understand how drone warfare works are proven fatal. One of Russia’s biggest losses is the sinking of its flagship to Ukraine’s artillery strikes, an attack that Russia failed to anticipate due to its inferior counterdrone protection systems. Russie also failed to equip its vehicles with counterdrone protection or electronic warfare protection, allowing Ukrainian drones to fly ...

The Power of Artificial Intelligence for C-UAS

In recent years, drones have become more and more common. It has become common knowledge that said technology benefits military offense and defence in many ways, such as hiding explosive devices, scouting no man’s lands, carrying out surveillance, and combating electronic warfare . Today, drones have many other functions outside of the military settings – monitoring climate change, conducting search operations, and distributing medical supplies, to name a few. The rising popularity of UAS technology calls for a major improvement in counterdrone protection. To combat the increasing number of illegal activities using drone technology, DroneShield releases various C-UAS products like C-UAS prisons, C-UAS airports, and counterdrone stadiums. The latter plays a significant role in realising antidrone airports, mitigating UAS-related incidents caused by unregulated uses of said technology. When the number of drones circulating the market isn’t as many as today, cou...
